Thompson Vineyard Chardonnay
Wine
Stonier Thompson Vineyard Chardonnay is sourced from the Thompson Vineyard, planted in 1978. Not only Stonier's founding vineyard, it is also one of the pioneer vineyards of the Mornington Peninsula.
The fruit is whole bunch pressed and fermented in puncheons, around one third new. There is typically no malolactic fermentation to maintain the purity fruit flavours.
After ageing for several months, the wine is blended and returned to the same barrels to mature further. This wine is made in very limited quantities.
Deep yellow, Stonier Thompson Vineyard Chardonnay is highly aromatic with pure fruit flavours and an array of floral and herbal notes. Cellaring potential is five years.
